Recruitment
An informational meeting about Alpha Omega is scheduled for Monday August 18 from noon-1PM in SDB 501. The lunch will catered with Papa Johns and it is open to all students interested in joining Alpha Omega.
Community service
Clay (mcentire@uab.edu) is in charge of the nursing home oral hygiene program. He has met with Ms Graham from the Methodist Home For Aging. He collected common questions from Ms. Graham and had them answered by Dr. Thornton. In the future, we will arrange a 15 minute oral health presentation to assist with their training program.
Social
Kristen (bentley@uab.edu) arranged the AO Karaoke Social 2007. We should aim to have another AO socail event planned for fall semester. Maybe Karaoke, maybe something else.
Michael (babston@uab.edu) pulled off another successful Kegs n Kickball. The event occurred Friday May 23 at Patriot Park. If you have any picture from the event, please email them to: nlawson@uab.edu
Professionalism
Marc (mvance@uab.edu) planned a highly-attended lunch n' learn. Dr. Kevin Alexander came and spoke about the financial aspects of dentistry. This was a catered exclusively AO event.
AO donated $100 for miles for smiles, $180 to AO nationals and 3 t-shirts for the door prizes at the UAB Scholar's Symposium.
National
Some good news: Our chapter won a chapter efficiency award and received a certificate of appreciation for our charitable donation ($180) at the national convention.

The national AO student leadership conference will be held in Atlanta this year. This meeting is scheduled for Sep 26-28. We should have a large UAB attendance.
